Electric generation is a straightforward technology that creates value, and there are numerous incentives to generate electricity from waste sources.
In addition to electric generation, a direct use or a high Btu gas project may also be viable. These solutions can offer benefits that LFG-to-electricity does not. Though not as common as electric generation, there are additional benefits including shorter development time, allowing for earlier payment of royalties.

Direct use and high Btu plants also require less space and fewer emissions than an electric-generation plant. As a result, fewer permits are required due to negligible air emissions. Equipment can easily be expanded as gas flows increase.
